The Thai market is all about bringing Thai people together.
From the humble beginning as just a hub for picking up meals to an event attracting hundreds of Thai people from around the midwest, the Thai market has brought the Thai community together. Each Sunday during the summer, vendors bring their homemade products to the grounds of Thai Illinois Chamber of Commerce in Bridgeview, IL. Our diverse vendors come from all over Chicagoland area. Some even come from out of state. All with the goal of sharing their products with eager customers.
The market was the brainchild of Richard Hanviriyapunt, a financial advisor at the chamber and owner of the market grounds. The market was created as a solution to COVID’s impact on Thai restaurants and workers in Illinois. Due to lockdown, many were without jobs. The market provide opportunities for those impacted to gain income from selling their products.
